This path goes through the Chamonix Valley, taking you to Les Tines from Argentière.
All along, there are wonderful views over the Valley and the Mont Blanc Massif.
In Argentiere, near the railway bridge on the RN 506 road, turn right along Chemin de la Corne à Bouc, which is where the Petit Balcon Sud really starts. It is a pleasant walk up through the forest behind the chalets of Argentiere.
Then cross the wide Lioutraz corridor, which is the scene of some major
avalanches in winter. This easy path continues alongside the railway line. After
the snow fence on the right, look out for the cliffs which are popular with climbers: Les Plaques Bellin. You will soon find yourself looking down on the picturesque village of La Joux and the site known as La Chauffriaz.
Cross an area of fallen rocks: walk quickly through here as rock and stone falls remain possible. The path then takes you into the forest and winds down towards Pont de La Corruaz in Les Tines.
