Osmose Cuisine, based in Chamonix, became a 'Scop' (a cooperative and participatory company) last September. It was the next logical step for the company founders, who consider it a way of developing their projects while strengthening their synergy with local partners and reinforcing their philosophy.
DescriptionOsmose Cuisine provides unique and innovative culinary services in the Chamonix valley, including a first-class catering service – incorporating fresh, seasonal and local produce (organic whenever possible) into a range of inventive culinary creations – as well as a rent-a-chef service and cookery lessons for private individuals.
Because the associates of Osmose Cuisine have been driven by shared values of equality and co-decision-making from the outset, it was only logical for them to convert the business into a Scop. On the one hand, this move allows them to build loyalty among future collaborators by offering them the opportunity to become part of the society. On the other, it allows Osmose Cuisine to provide an incubation service for culinary start-ups. The Scop could also be a way of providing technical support for chefs as they create or develop their own culinary business.
In the same cooperative vein, Osmose Cuisine provides access to shared kitchens for rent. These are just some of the numerous projects that should allow Osmose Cuisine to firmly establish the brand in the Chamonix region.
