This trip will take us to the discovery of resort villas built in the early 1900s on the outskirts of Chamonix.
At "Lac à l'anglais", we will discuss the astonishing story of an English lord in love with Chamonix. We will walk on the old path taken by the diligences. This road, crossing the village of Pècles, will lead us from villa to villa, towards the center of Chamonix.
It will be for all of us an opportunity to observe with more attention these villas called "follies", as the designers have given free rein to their imagination.
We will see, among others, the "Villa Rosemont" neo-Palladian style, the "Villa Farman", testimony of Anglo Norman style if run in the seaside resorts of the early twentieth, two old houses built by Nubar Pasha, Egyptian prince, then "Villa Butterfly", one of the most amazing on our itinerary, and also "Villa des Pècles", typical of the regionalist style, without forgetting the "Villa Grande Savoyarde", recently restored.
