Wonderful views of the Aiguilles des Drus. Astonishing area of red rock. Views of the Mer de Glace. Footpath constructed by the Commune of Chamonix and the Forest National Office.

Start from the Montenvers train station in Chamonix. From the lever crossing, follow the parking and the ski slope of Les Planards, along the railway line. Leave the footpath through the forest as far as the Planards Farm, where you cross the railway line. The path now curves upwards to the Orthaz couloir and then zigzag up the winding path of Le Cé. Follow the path which flattens out : the trail cuts across the pathe coming from Les Bois and emerges from the forest after the couloir de la Filiaz, climbing over the red boulders to reach the viewpoint and the chalet.

With 30 minutes more, you can reach the Montenvers site.

Other itinerary available from Les Bois.
