Animal parc of Merlet

Situated at 1562 m, in front of the Mont Blanc,face au Mont-Blanc, the animal park of Merlet is a magnificent 50 acres park where ibex, chamois, marmots, stags, deers, hinds and llamas move around in freedom !

Several features take place regurlarly this summer

- Antlers and horns > Learn all about the antler cycle and determine the age, sex, and health of animals by observing their horns and antlers / 2.30pm

-Reading the landscape > Observe the alpine stages with your own eyes, see their fauna and flora, valley urbanisation...

- Exhibition "the age of wood" > How did people live in chalets in the previous century ?

- Daily presentation > Llamas, what use are they ?

Highlights of the day

- At opening time, in the morning : the animals are easy to spot because they've just been fed near the chalets.
- Midday : Look out for rest areas and distinguish the animals in their naturel habitat.
- From 4pm :The youngest play and the marmots come out.

Gorges de la Diosaz

The protected park of Diosaz Gorges is accessible on foot.
Here, the tempetuous mountain torrent of the Diosaz river carves a narrow passage through the rocky bluffs, casacding down in a succession of seven waterfalls.
Retrun trip : 1h30
Picnic area and snack stall.

Canine-trek : Huskies and Eskimo dogs from Greenland

Educational and different, the canine trek permit to discover a nature in which the dog is your most faithful friend : meet the pack, receive explanations of the activities, harness the dogs, make the trek, then practise dog maintenance on returning.
