The village of Servoz will host the 18th edition of this triathlon. Relay race by 3’s: running, mountain biking and road biking. Race bibs can be collected from 9.30am with the first departure at 11am. Meal and raffle after the race. Registration at the Tourist Offices of Les Houches or Servoz.

Sunday 14 th – The Sheep Fair
Not to be missed! Sheep galore and presentations of rural and gastronomic heritage along with animations. In Servoz.

Every Thursday of the school holidays, the ESF Ski School puts on its torchlight teatime show for the children and by the children! From 6pm at the Le Tourchet piste in the centre of the village.

Saturday 5th > Open doors day dedicate to the discovery of local heritage and agropastoralism at the "Maison de l'alpage" of Servoz
The day will be marked by several events:
- presentation of the new resource center on the pastures and life in the mountains
- meeting with Colette GEROME, local writer
- Tales throughout the day

The start of the Lhosser, the Tibetan New Year, with four days of festivities and meetings. Animations. Espace Olca.

Teatime by torchlight: Every Thursday of the school holidays, the ESF ski school holds a torchlight descent on the Le Tourchet slope.
Children’s teatime followed by the torchlight descent with the children.

Wednesday 27 & Thursday 28 th - Les Houches Kids Contest (LHKC).
The 6 th edition of this national meeting of 7-14 year olds.
On the programme: Free Ride, Boarder and Ski Cross, Big Air. Avalanche victims search organised by the dog handlers of the Chamonix rescue services.
Also: workshop and exhibition Ecorider attitude with Mountain Riders; cinema/conference with Alain Duclos – off-piste skiing and avalanches.

Exhibition at the library: Calligraphy. From 4 th-29 th
From Arab calligraphy to Gothic writings, the beauty goes beyond the simple words. Allying technique, concentration, philosophy and spirituality, mixing thoroughness with creativity, calligraphy is nowadays considered as an accomplished art form.

Every Wednesday from 28 th December onwards, Nature outing: Snow and the wild fauna, with the trekking guide Pascal Payot, specialist in the mountain fauna. Outings planned all winter. Supervision and snowshoes if necessary 10€. Information and inscription at the Tourist Office.

DECOU’VERTE, a guided visit on skis of the mythical Verte ski slope every Thursday by Marc Battendier, ex-member of the French ski team. Information and inscription at the Tourist Office.

In Les Houches

Sunday 13th - Festival Les Vielles Casquettes
This year, Les Houches will welcome the fete Vieilles Casquettes with music from Faucigny. All the musicians, over 30 years of age, have at least 20 years experience in a Faucigny band. The public can enjoy the street parade in the centre of the village between 11.15am and 12.30pm, then the concert of the Les Houches municipal band.

Wednesday 16th - Cinema
Programme to be defined. Cinebus: children’s séance at 5.30pm, then at 9pm, in the Olca hall. Tariffs: Adults 4.50€, children 2.80€

Thursday 17th - Flower Fair
The 11th flower fair. Various exhibitors (equipment, florists, altitude plants ...). Participation of ‘Dede the Gardener’ from Radio France Bleu Pays de Savoie, in the afternoon.

The Arsene Luchini Summer Challenge - a regional ski jumping competition at the Chante ski jump.

In Les Houches

Saturday 7th
The 18th summer ski jumping Grand Prix, memorial Daniel Mollier, at the Chante ski jump. Training starts at 1.30pm, competition at 5.30pm. At the same occasion, the Ski Jumping Club is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

Wednesday 11th to Friday 13th: Storytelling Festival
The 5th Storytelling Festival over three days. Storytelling walks and tea breaks, evenings… Organised by the Tourist Office in Les Houches, Municipal Library.

Saturday 14th: Fireworks and summer ball
The ‘Houch’Arts’ exhibition along with traditional games. A day’s fun at the lac des Chavants. Folk dancing with Lou Pouvolles, and the Echo des Glaciers municipal harmonic, at 8pm. Tented summer ball with fireworks from 10.15pm. Organised by the village and local associations.

Monday 16th: Physics School Conference
The international physics school at Les Houches proposes a conference on a theme studied during their summer session. Come and meet the biggest names in physics. Wednesday 18th : Nature Meetings
Opening of the 11th edition of the festival dedicated to the environment, today centred in the two villages Les Houches and Servoz: cultural and artistic meetings, nature outings. Detailed programme available from the tourist offices.

Thursday 2nd: For the children
A spectacle for all ages: ‘Total fatal’, a comical circus on a trapeze. At the lac des Chavants at 6pm, or in the Olca hall in the case of bad weather. Free.

Sunday 9th: the village fete
The village fete, with a market, crafts, games, animations, an outdoor evening ‘tartiflette’ and a free nocturnal spectacle in the village centre. Programme to be defined. This event closes the Nature Meetings. Organised by the tourist office.

Tuesday 7th: Physics school conference
The international physics school in Les Houches proposes a conference on a theme treated during their summer session. Come and meet the biggest names in physics. Their aim: to help you discover in simple terms, the most passionate subjects in physics. Our aim: to enrich your knowledge and it costs nothing!
Philippe Cardin is a researcher at the Institute of internal geophysics and tectonophysics in Grenoble and the Observatory of Grenoble. He invites you to a presentation entitled ‘Has the planet lost its north? The dynamo effect in the universe’. At 9pm in the Olca hall.

Thursday 16th: Just for the kids
A special show entitled ‘TaberSnack’ juggling and clowning around, Quebec style! At 6pm at the lac de Chavants. Free entry. Organised by the Les Houches Tourist Office.

Friday 24th: the Ultra Trail
The Mont-Blanc ULTRA TRAIL with 8500m of acclivity/declivity over 155km. Departing from Chamonix at 8pm and passing through Les Houches around 8.30pm.

The ‘Houch’hard’ bike climb up to Vaudagne, individual bike race against the clock.
Open to everyone over 16 years of age: road bike, mountain bike or tandem!

Saturday 8th: Handi Sports
A day of sport: archery, tennis, climbing, trekking, cross-country wheelchair treks. Organised by the local Handi Sports league.

Sunday 23rd
The popular ‘Batailles des Reines’ cow competition on the natural skating rink at Le Tourchet. More than 100 champion black Hérens cows from 30 breeders will lock horns and battle it out through the knock-out rounds during the entire day, to find out who will be crowned queen of these traditional and friendly matches.
